Grounded Body Psychotherapy

Therapy that encompasses the whole person - body, mind & spirit.

Body Psychotherapy

Is a holistic therapy that encompasses the whole person – the body, mind and spirit – to help people live full and meaningful lives through processing and transforming their past challenges.

Whereas traditional psychology typically works only with the mind, research shows that the body holds the memory of trauma. In order to address this, body psychotherapists work with your body, feelings, and sensations.

It incorporates touch, breathing, and movement techniques in a safe space with an empathetic and non-judgmental therapist.

Body psychotherapy can help with:

Stress, anxiety, mood, depression, self-esteem, anger, energy balance, fatigue, body pain, sexuality, relationship issues, trauma, nervous system regulation, grief, loss, chronic illness, and major life changes.

Amber McBride body psychotherapist

Amber McBride

Fourth-year student practitioner

Amber comes to body psychotherapy after years of capturing people’s stories as a documentary filmmaker, and is in her final year of training as a therapist.

As a former patient of clinical psychology, she found herself frustrated by the limitations of traditional talk therapy. While she enjoyed observing human behaviour through filmmaking, she feels grateful to be helping clients create meaningful change in their own lives.

Amber bases her therapy upon the principles of kindness, presence and creativity.

Discounted Sessions

Amber is currently offering discounted sessions of $60 per 60-minute session while she completes her final year of training.

In-person appointments are available in Summer Hill, in Sydney’s Inner West. Online sessions are also available.
